Nick Gonzalez holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California (USC). Nick believes in promoting data-driven policy solutions that advance criminal justice reform, equitable economic opportunity, and Latino representation. Nick has been working on the Executive Appointments project at LPPI where he quantifies the diversity of California’s gubernatorial appointments and has learned about the importance of enhancing Latino representation in California government. Additionally, Nick co-authored LPPI’s analysis of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission applicant pool, finding a significant underrepresentation of Latinos. Nick has also worked on LPPI’s Digital Upskilling and Economic Mobility project where he researches data and policy and has learned about the need for data-driven solutions that will maximize the inclusion of Latinos and all communities of color in the digital economy.
