Voting Rights Project Fellow
Cassie DeWitt is a dual degree MD/MPP student who studies at UCLA and will graduate in spring of 2021. Cassie is aware of the inequities in society that lead to disparate health outcomes in communities of color. Communities must have a voice to effect change and the right to vote is one that must be protected. At LPPI, Cassie has co-authored The UCLA Voting Rights Project: Voting and Infection Prevention of COVID-19, a memo addressing the concerns associated with in-person and vote-by-mail programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cassie is currently a part of the PRIME program at the David Geffen School of Medicine, which trains medical students to be physician leaders and advocates for underserved and marginalized populations.
